Personal Information

In this Policy, “personal information” means information which can identify specific individuals, such as IDs, nicknames, mailing addresses, mobile phone mailing addresses, user names etc. It also includes information which can be used to identify specific individuals by combining one or more pieces of information, such as passwords, sex, date of birth, domicile address, occupation, complaints, inquiries, questions, etc.

Management of Information

We acknowledge that personal data are important information in need of protection, and we are committed to respecting your privacy. When we collect Customers’ personal information, we manage it in a strict manner.
We take preventive measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, leaks, loss, corruption, etc. If such events occur, we will address them swiftly in order to mitigate the problem and minimize disturbances to Customers.

Collection of Information

We may ask Customers to provide us with their name, address, mailing address, and other personal information as necessary (in questionnaire form) should they use the Service, register as a member, or purchase goods on our operating website.Please note that inconveniences (such as unavailability of the Service) might occur when Customers do not provide requested information to be used for the prescribed purposes.

Purposes of Use of Personal Information

When we obtain personal information directly from the owner of said information, either via our website or in writing, this information may be used by our business for the following purposes:

Purposes of use of personal information on Customers

  • • To propose, sell or provide goods, services, and support for Customers
  • • To display information on our other services which seem beneficial to Customers
  • • To promote our business partners’ goods, services, events, seminars, etc. on our website (which Customers visited), on terminal devices of other customers who have registered as our members, or to send such information by e-mail, letters or other means
    (Customers may terminate and resume such information services by notifying the Company.)
  • • To address questions or requests
  • • To aggregate and analyze attributes of the personal information provided by Customers who have registered as members of our services, and to prepare processed data (hereinafter “statistical data”) so as to make it impossible to identify or specify individuals. This anonymized data may be used for the execution of business plans, such as the development of new services.
  • • To conduct campaigns and send gifts

Purposes of use of personal information on business partners

  • • To conduct business negotiations, arrangements, and communications with business partners
  • • To provide information to and communicate with contact persons of business partners
  • • To conduct business entrusted to us by business partners
  • • To conduct payment and billing procedures between the Company and business partners

Purposes of use of personal information on applicants for a job at the Company

We use personal information received upon application for a job and in the course of the employment screening process. When we use the information for purposes other than the following, we will notify the relevant person separately, and obtain consent prior to use (unless otherwise specified by law):

Purposes of use of personal information on persons who visited the Company

  • • To ensure security of the Company

When we obtain personal information directly from the owner of said information by means other than in writing or our website, or when we obtain personal information through public information sources or third parties, we will publish the purposes of use of this information in advance. Exceptions may be made if the purposes of use are obvious from the situation in which the information was obtained, or if any laws specify that the notice and publication of the purposes are not necessary.

  • • For notification of the class 3 insured of National Pension
  • • For notifications regarding health insurance

When we use personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the above purposes, we will reobtain consent of the owner of the personal information. We will inform them of the purposes of its use, in principle, except for in the following circumstances:

Note: Customers may decide for themselves whether to provide their respective personal information for the use of each of the Company’s services. However, please note that our services may not be available if the requested information is not provided in accordance with the prescribed purposes of use.

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

We manage personal information obtained from Customers in a proper manner, and will not provide the information to any third parties, except in the following cases:

Sharing of Personal Information

When we conduct business activities jointly with specific business operators, we may share Customers’ personal information as required with such operators. However, in such cases, we will notify the relevant Customers of, or publish, the purposes of use. Furthermore, to ensure safe management of the information, we will enter into an agreement on the sharing of personal information, and manage said information properly.

Deposit of Personal Information

We will not deposit personal information except in the following cases:

Direct Mail

We may send information which seems beneficial to Customers via email or post, from us or our business partners, to the addresses (mailing address, domicile address) registered as personal information. This information will be distributed only to Customers who have given permission in advance. Customers may withdraw permission thereafter.

Modification and Deletion of Personal Information

We address requests for notification of purposes of use, disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, termination of use, elimination or cessation of provision to third parties of personal information (hereinafter “Requests for disclosure, etc.”), from the owner of the information (subject to disclosure) or his/her representatives, based on JIS Q 15001:2006.
When a Customer wishes to modify his/her personal information by him/herself, please go through the prescribed modification procedure.
When a Customer wishes to request for disclosure, etc., please contact us via the “Contact Details for Personal Information” specified below.
In such cases, we will address the request only after the identity of the Customer has been confirmed by the Company.

Requests to Customers Under 18

When a person under 18 years old uses the Company’s services, and enters his/her personal information, they must do so with the consent of his/her guardians. Please note that when the prescribed personal information is not provided, or false personal information is provided, certain services may not be available.

Periods of Retention and Use of Personal Information

Personal information collected by the Company will be retained and managed by the Company for the period of time during which our services are used by Customers. Customers may request disclosure of their own personal information that has been retained and managed by the Company. However, the immediate disclosure of information to the relevant Customer will occur only after the identity of the Customer has been confirmed. These steps are necessary to prevent a leak of information to third parties. When a Customer cancels a membership, personal information collected from the Customer will be deleted. When a Customer requests deletion or correction of personal information, we will delete and correct the information immediately after the identity of the Customer has been confirmed by the Company.

Cookies

Cookies are a function enabling users to omit the reentry of data. They also allow websites to display contents most suitable for respective Customers by storing Customers’ information in their browsers. We use this technology to help display the most suitable internet advertisements, to figure out numbers of users, to omit reentry of data, and for other reasons.
Customers may choose whether or not to receive cookies by setting their browsers to notify them when cookies are sent. Customers may also set their browsers to disable the functions of cookies. However, please note that some functions of our services may be disrupted when cookie functions are disabled.

Obtaining and Use of Attribute Information and Behavioral History that
Do Not Identify Individuals

On our website, we conduct a behavioral targeting advertising scheme (an advertising method that delivers advertisements in accordance with users’ interests and concerns based on site-visit information etc.) by using a program provided by advertisement agencies. For such advertisement schemes, we use cookies to collect information on users’ site-visit history. However, we do not collect information which can specify or identify individuals.
An advertising agency will use cookies to deliver advertisements based on information from previous visits to our website. Users who wish to cancel this advertisement function can do so by accessing the advertisement agency’s opt-out page and blocking these cookies. Resetting will be necessary when users change their browsers, delete cookies, or change to a new PC.
On the opt-out page of the advertisement agency, users may set their browsers not to use Google cookies. The use of cookies from third-party advertisement delivery agencies can also be canceled on the opt-out page of the Network Advertising Initiative. When the opt-out is not completed, cookies from third-party advertisement delivery agencies (including Google or advertisement networks) may also be used. SSL

Our website is compatible with SSL, should it be needed, to protect the personal information of Customers. By using SSL-compatible browsers (such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc.), personal information entered by Customers such as names, addresses, and phone numbers are received and sent in an automatically encrypted form. Therefore, if the transferred data are intercepted by third parties, contents of the data cannot be stolen. When a Customer uses a browser that is incompatible with SSL, you may not have access to our website or enter information.

Management of Personal Information

We take preventive measures against unauthorized access to our network, and make every effort to prevent access to our administrative server from outside of our network.
We take proper measures and actions when transferring Customers’ specific personal information, so as to ensure the safety and maintain the accuracy of the information.
Personal information handled by the Company is protected through Customers’ user IDs and passwords. Customers are responsible for the management of their own passwords. We will not be responsible for any problems arising from a leak of Customers’ IDs or passwords caused by Customer neglect.
While we will make every endeavor to protect personal information, we will not be responsible for any problems arising from troubles with the Internet or Customer neglect.

Our business has been certified and granted a right to use the designation of “Privacy Mark (P-mark)” by the Japan Institute for Promotion of Digital Economy and Community. To provide services which ensure safety and reliability to Customers, we will further promote the protection of personal information. At the same time, we will continue to maintain and improve our systems for protecting this sensitive data.

We are a company subject to the rules of authorized personal information protection organizations.
